Lady Queen Paradise has been a steadfast participant in the DIY music circuit since 2014. They are a folk punk at heart and have toured extensively around North America with this ethos* in mind. They have written many collections of music, including their 2014 voice memo deubt voice memo love songs, their alt rock full-band album You Are Everything, and the 2023 confessional folk favorite Into the red kingdom.
On the internet, Lady Queen Paradise predominantly deals in lo-fi audio recordings. About their attachment to the voice memo they have said the following:
"If I write some truly magnificent songs but record them all on an iPhone, does that take away their value? Sure, you might call them demos. But they're not approximate. They get right to the heart of it. In them I hear the finality of a completely unfettered, private moment of wholeness."
As a live performer, Lady Queen Paradise contradicts this private intimacy. With delicate guitar work and a wide spectrum voice, they have left many an audience wrecked, rattled, and disarmed. When they sing, it is a testimony to presence: a genre they like to call ariacore. In fact, they are currently workshopping two solo operas, entitled Lady Queen Paradise The Opera and Maiden Flower Everything, Please Don't Die For Me.
Lady Queen Paradise finds the balance between folk and opera. You may notice their shapeshifting. In an interview with Public Universal Fantasy, Lady Queen Paradise stated that "To be confusing on the internet only invigorates my multiplicity. Trust me, everything I'm doing will make sense later."
Over a decade of DIYing around North America has blessed Lady Queen Paradise with a unique cult following of transsexuals, classical music aficionados, niche indie darlings, and dusty folksingers. A dream for anyone. Especially them.
